Sportsmanship

We just returned from the boys’ 5th soccer game and all I can say is that they are learning good sportsmanship! Bless their hearts, they haven’t won a game yet! Four losses and one tie. They played their little hearts out. The other teams are just stronger.

In all five games, they played giving their best. And, they accepted defeat with grace, style, and dignity. Who could ask for more? I believe this experience will make them stronger team players, more encouraging to others, and less critical. As a mom, I wish they could win a few games but for right now, they are learning a lesson in humility.

Isaiah 40:29-31

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

  1. It is somtimes heart-wrenching to watch them lose games...but you are right about learning sportmanship and other things. Glad to have you back.

  2. I'm sure the boys don't even notice that they keep losing! You are surprised that I still have roses? It was still summer here up till Friday, when it was in the mid 90's. Now it has finally cooled off, but last year I still had roses in December. Weird.

St. Therese

St. Therese, the Little Flower, please pick me a rose from the heavenly garden and send it to me with a message of love. Ask God to grant me the favor I thee implore, and tell Him I will love Him each day, more and more.
