I love my life ... and Lucy

I grew up watching I Love Lucy. I relate to her so much more since I have become a wife and mother.  Sometimes, you just have to do what you have to do.....

We had a wonderful Christmas and the kids got way too much (as usual!)  Now, to find a place for the new goodies!

I took both kittens to the vet yesterday to have them "fixed".  Ricky (aka Dennis) was not too happy over the amount of money it cost but I thought it was very reasonable for both kittens.  And, I got a discount for writing a check.  Both kittens are curled up next to me now as I write this post.

Christmas Eve I was reminding the boys that Santa was coming to town and they needed to be nice and not naughty.  I was singing the famous words of "he knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake."  Little Ricky (aka Deniska) piped up and said, "So basically, Mom, you stalk us!"  Yes, dear, I stalk you and will be in your business for the rest of your life!  This was the first year they did not wake up early and race to see what Santa brought them.  They are growing up - too fast.

Dennis bought me a Food Saver for Christmas.  I had been wanting one forever!  It was just what I wanted!

Since I did not bake anything (except cookies) for Christmas, I decided that every month around the 25th I would make a special treat for the boys.  Yesterday, I made fudge.  I have a list already made for every month this coming year.

One of my best Christmas gifts was having lunch with my best friend.  We had Chinese food and caught up on all of the Christmas and daily goings on.  I really miss her since she retired last year.  It is hard not to see your best friend every day!

Today, it's back to the daily grind.  I need to clean house, do laundry, cook, etc...  It's not all fun and games you know.

Lights, camera, action...time to get to work!

24 Days of Thanksgiving

From Google Images
From now until Christmas, it will be a mad rush.  Often, Thanksgiving gets overlooked and cast aside except for Thanksgiving Day.  I don't want to be caught up in that rush.  So, for the next 24 days, I will be listing what I am thankful for.  I encourage you to do the same.

Today is also All Saints Day.  This is a day we remember those who have gone on before us.  For me, I am especially remembering my parents and brothers who have passed.  So, today and everyday, I am thankful for Family.  The family I grew up with, the family I have now, and the family I will have in future days.  I am truly blessed.

Sam

This is Sam. He is the sweetest cat and is just a gentle giant. Of course, he likes to help me fold clothes and put away things by sleeping on the clothes. I caught him cat napping and thought I would snap his picture.

Today is housecleaning day. We went to Mass last night so I could spend the day cleaning inside today. I am so not looking forward to doing housework. Still, I am so thankful that I have a home filled with loved ones who mess it up! It's a small price to pay.

Psalms 113:9
He gives the childless wife a home, the joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

Chuck E. Cheese's

One of the things we do on vacation is to visit Chuck E. Cheese. The boys have a blast and secretly I love to play those games too! LOL! On our vacation we were fortunate enough to get to go to CEC with my sister-in-law Deanna and her sons - Christian and Anthony. One of my favorite photos is a picture I took of Anthony. You can see the joy and determination in his face. He, of course, is super cool and the co-Ruler of Chuck E. Cheese along with his brother Christian!

Grandma Joyce also joined us at Chuck E Cheese's and dutifully guarded our food and purses and most importantly the tickets that the boys had won! Deniska loves to give (and receive) hugs from his Grandma Joyce. The boys wanted to take her home with us. She said she couldn't come. We hope she can visit with us soon. She looks good in this picture doesn't she?
